How to become a Hostess, what you need to know and do.

What sort of thing will I be expected to wear?

Each club will have it's own dress code, some may provide themed costume, some may require evening dresses, some may require basques. A good rule of thumb is to wear something classy that you would be comfortable wearing if you were going out for a meal at a nice restaurant. Whatever you choose to wear you should always aim to look your very best, accessorise and smell lovely.

How much can I expect to earn?

This is really very much down to you and how much champagne you sell. Each club has it's own policy on fees, commission and tips which will be explained during interviews and training. However, it is not uncommon for a good hostess to earn between £500-£800 a week.

What if I am asked about 'extras'?

By the hostess code of conduct if any patron makes any sort of advances, lewd suggestions or behaves in any way deemed to be offensive you should always inform the club management so they can deal with it. Hostesses should always feel safe and comfortable whilst working, and any suggestions of 'extras' will result in the patrons being asked to leave. Similarly hostesses should never arrange to meet patrons outside the club, give out or take phone numbers and any hostess found to be doing so can expect to be dismissed.

How many days a week will I be expected to work? Can I pick my own days?

Again, this differs from club to club, but if you want to earn good money you should really make yourself available at least 3 days a week. You can usually pick your own days to suit you as most clubs operate on a rota system but occasionally you might be asked to come in on particular days in order for the club to treat all hostesses fairly.

How will I get paid?

This is something you would need to ask at interview, as clubs are often not able to discuss such matters over the phone. Each club will have a different policy.

Clubs in London are always looking for hostesses, and it is worth doing your research as to what the club is like before you apply. We check all requests by clubs to be included on this site so we can be sure their details are accurate and fully reflect what their vacancies entail.

When considering your application always check their websites and try and see what the clubs offer their patrons. If a club is in a good part of London, is high class and offers training then you stand a better chance of making good money, as you will be shown how to maximize champagne sales and they will have a higher class of customer.
